Registration Information

Dear Rec Plus Players and Families:

The CSA Board of Directors is planning an exciting and fun season for our Rec Plus Program.  Registration is now open!   The board liaison to the Rec Plus Program this year will be Peter Newman.

CSA’s Rec Plus program core values do not change in the Rec Plus program.  The program’s emphasis continues on Individual player growth and development while having fun, and learning to play as part of a team.  At the same time, RP is designed to be a bridge between CSA’s recreational soccer program and other competitive soccer programs like those found in the public schools and travel soccer programs.

This season we are working on setting up the opportunity for the Rec Plus teams to to be part of five or six Saturday play dates where one of the leagues hosts the other clubs and each team playing two games against one of the several teams from the other cities  Additionally, the Rec Plus Registration Fee will include one tournament.

CSA’s Rec Plus program continues to grow in popularity.  Placement on a Rec Plus team is by invitation only.  The team coaches are among the very best in all of CSA.  The criteria considered when deciding which players should be offered a spot on a Rec Plus team include: (1)  Skills and playing ability---how the player does at the jamboree; (2)  Recommendations from previous coaches; (3)  Parent’s willingness to support the program and league; and (4) Number of seasons player has registered with CSA along with the number of years the player has played soccer.     Therefore the Rec Plus program requires players dedicate more than one hour per week for practice and one hour on Saturday’s for games.  Before deciding to register your child for the Rec Plus Program, please review the following program guidelines and expectations to make sure that the program is a good match for your player and family.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM CSA’S REC PLUS PROGRAM:

  1. A fun, safe, and challenging soccer program for your player that whose primary focus is individual player growth and development with additional emphasis on learning how to play as a team.
  2. A quality soccer program, with licensed coaches and the ability to play in matches against other teams of comparable skill and experience.
  3. A positive soccer environment where all players are encouraged to give 100% all the time.
  4. No increase in registration fees for the Fall 2007 season and the opportunity to play in at least one tournament.

WHAT CSA’S REC PLUS PROGRAM EXPECTS FROM PLAYERS AND PARENTS

  1. To show respect and good sportsmanship at all times to other coaches, players, referees and everyone who is a part of running CSA’s soccer program.
  2. To follow all the requirements agreed to in the Rec Plus Code of Conduct.
  3. To attend not less than 90% of all practices (trainings), games and other events that the team in which the team participates.
  4. To arrive at practices and games on time and ready to play.  For practices, this means arriving at the designated time with a size-4 (U11 and U12) or size-5 (U14) soccer ball, soccer cleats and shin pads and a positive soccer attitude.  For games, it means arriving at the field 15-30 minutes before the start time of the game, dressed in the game uniform and having a positive soccer attitude.
  5. To be at the field to pick up your child at the end of practice and by the end of games.  Your child’s coach is not a babysitter.
  6. To attend and actively participate in all Sunday afternoon Rec Plus trainings from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM., and to attend other practices scheduled by the coach.    Players are NOT required to attend more than one Sunday practice and one weekday practice per week.
  7. To resolve and discuss any problems or issues that come up at a game, practice or other time during the season away from the soccer field and outside hearing distance of any other parent, player or coach.
  8. To allow your child’s coach to be the only person trying to coach the team and everyone on the team while they are on the field.  When the players hear parents and spectators on the sideline yelling at them where to go or what to do, it can be very confusing.

PLEASE NOTE:  Attendance will be taken at Sunday practices.  Players will be permitted up to two unexcused absences from Sunday training sessions.  Upon the player’s third unexcused absence, the player will be ineligible to play on the following Saturday.  If the player has a fourth unexcused absence, CSA will not certify that player to participate in the end of the season tournament.  Absences due to a death or other medical emergency involving a member of the player’s immediate family are not considered "unexcused."
